I had written about the plug-in drug in my family before. I continued to consider what Marie Winn wrote, and came to the conclusion that she has reason but has exaggerated immensely to prove her point, which made the article a little bit unrealistic. I know some Americans have gone out of control about TV, but blaming the TV that bitterly is an unfair treatment to it. The main source of "guilt" here is us humans. We just love to spoil anything that could actually be beneficial to us.
P.S.: Compfight cannot find any photographs of Marie Winn that is licensed under Creative Commons! That awful copyright business once again!
P.S.2: You can (and should, I guess) reach the article on SUCourse!

Just to encourage you to think a bit further...can you guess Marie Winn's political orientation?
ReplyDeleteAnd Beri, about images...
ReplyDelete1) A literal search is not the only way. Can you choose a symbol from the text and search for that? In this case, what Marie Winn looks like is not really relevant to the presentation. You were searching for Big Brother the other day, which is a concept; it might be more profitable to search for 'eye', since this symbolises reality TV - 'Big Brother is watching you.' See what I mean?
2) There are lots of other places to find Creative Commons images; I showed you only one way. Try this wiki for lots more links:

I also wanted to say that you have really fantastic English, very native-like...I enjoy reading your writing here...
ReplyDeleteFirst, thank you very much! That's one of the best compliments I've ever had, really... (I certainly don't mean I get many!) Anyway, how's this plug? =) I got what you mean, and it's helpful, so thanks once again. About politics, I think I cannot do that business very well but she's probably against American "imperialism" and capitalism, and may have a socialist view as well...
ReplyDeleteWell, I was referring more to the fact that she seems like a conservative Republican - family values, etc. Definitely NOT a socialist. :))
ReplyDeleteOh..
