I had planned to blog about our presentation movie "The Full Monty" next week but a "trailer" may be a nice ad =)
In fact I literally planned a trailer by cutting one or two scenes from the movie and put it here - I'll try doing so (it may end after the presentation :( ).
The most interesting thing about the movie is that it makes you laugh but in my opinion it is not a comedy at all - the emotional and "life-conditional" aspects play far more important roles.
Anyway...
Sit back, read the subtitles below the snapshots, and enjoy both the movie and the presentation!
Bayıldım!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you - although it's hilarious, the underlying messages of unemployment, destruction of industry and prejudice against fathers are very serious indeed. That's why I love this film so much.
btw you are making me pant to keep up with you! ;-))You are setting the blogosphere on fire...
ReplyDeleteBeri,
ReplyDeleteOur presentation movie is Full Monty too.
Altough it was very funny it highlights lots of emotional issues as you said.
Have you tried to use video converters to divide the movie? After this ,you can upload it to Youtube or Facebook, and share with us.
By the way, i am always reading your posts, your blog is cool,
Thank you for your posts.
Thank you =)
ReplyDeleteActually Hasan and I have plans of division to be actualized soon, thanks – I can’t wait to post our trailer and receive “feedback”.
Sonja, will you never give up? =) Is it “come on, this is Sonja we’re talking about!”?
Here's the organisation I was telling you about, Real Fathers for Justice:

I think Gaz's situation in the film highlighted the tendency in our societies to link fatherhood with a concept of masculinity that includes having a job, being the breadwinner. When a man is out of work, he is seen as a 'loser', unable to 'take care of his family'. In our current economic crisis, many men in various countries have already committed suicide for this reason, that's so tragic. That's why I think that the ultimate meaning of 'the full monty' is a restoration of the 6 mens' self-esteem and their belief in their manhood.
